I chose Tolkien because reading his books is truly an immersive experience, much recommended.

Gondor is a medium-size nation with it’s core region lying between the White Mountains and the Bay of Belfalas. A map will follow, however, more description is needed. Relations changed over time, until the all-conquering Gondor fell into the darkness of being a defensive state. Calenardhon was given to King Eorl of Rohan; Ithilien fell to Minas Morgul, a servant-state of Mordor; Minas Ithil itself was conquered and became Minas Morgul; Umbar became the home of the Corsairs; and South Gondor (Harondor), became owned by the Haradrim.

Where is Gondor? -In the south of the North-Western region of Middle – Earth, a great realm at its height, spanning over 1000 square miles at its largest, an enormous realm.
